Why it's light
Every pound on the drawworks is a pound off the payload.
Because every component was sized for this drawworks. It isn't a 1,500 hp unit de-rated to 40 kip, and it isn't a third-party gearbox bolted onto a drum. Drum, shaft, gearbox and brake were each designed for the load they actually see, and nothing that doesn't earn its weight made it onto the skid.
